On July 24, 2025, the arise accelerator celebrates its grand finale with the Startup DemoDay. Ten promising startups will showcase their innovative solutions in the fields of industry, smart regions, and healthcare – presenting to a jury, a live audience, and partners from across the innovation ecosystem.

arise accelerator
The arise accelerator is an innovation program by BadenCampus that supports startups in the fields of industry, smart regions, and healthcare on their growth journey.
Over the course of an intensive, multi-month program, participating teams gain access to industry experts, tailored coaching, pilot projects, and a strong network spanning business, academia, and the public sector.
The DemoDay marks the grand finale of the arise accelerator – a celebration of innovation, progress, and collaboration.
What to expect
At 3:00 PM, the doors of BadenCampus open for the first part of the DemoDay: the innovation gallery. Over a relaxed summer aperitivo, the startups will showcase their solutions and prototypes.
At 5:00 PM, the main stage program kicks off with startup pitches. Each team will present what they’ve been working on over the past months. The evening wraps up with food & drinks on the summer terrace – the perfect setting for networking and deeper conversations with founders, partners, and innovation enthusiasts.

Out of the bubble, into what’s next: Käpsele Innovation Festival 2025
The Käpsele Innovation Festival is back for round two! On June 26, 2025, Freiburg will once again become the hotspot for forward-thinkers, doers, and tech enthusiasts. As the largest innovation festival in southwestern Germany, the Käpsele Innovation Festival brings together participants from SMEs, startups, and innovation networks – and we at Pfizer are right in the middle of it!
Over 600 participants came together at the very first Käpsele Innovation Festival, held on the grounds of the Freiburg Tent Music Festival, to explore the future of AI, GreenTech, MedTech, robotics, and new work. A dynamic mix of startup stories, debates, and hands-on insights made one thing clear: this region is bursting with innovation – and the courage to show it.

Pfizer’s VR experience station
Step into the future of medical training: Our immersive VR simulation allows current and future healthcare professionals to experience realistic clinical scenarios in a safe, virtual environment. Participants can practice essential diagnostic and therapeutic skills – without any risk to real patients.
The focus of our simulation is on diagnosing and treating respiratory diseases, early detection and management of sepsis and proper use of antibiotics in line with the latest clinical guidelines.

A quantum leap into the future
Dr. Falk Pharma Stage | 6:00 PM: Join us for a forward-looking panel discussion on the opportunities and potential of quantum technology. Experts from science and industry, including Peter Neske, Innovation Lead at the Pfizer Healthcare Hub, along with representatives from QuantumBW, QuantumBasel, and the chamber of commerce – will share insights into current developments and real-world applications. Start-up BW Summit 2025 on June 2
On June 2, 2025, the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Baden-Württemberg invites the start-up community to a major networking event. The Start-up BW Summit 2025 is a trade fair, conference, and festival all in one – bringing together start-ups, investors, and companies from across the innovation ecosystem.
At the Start-up BW Summit, founders from across Europe come together to network, exchange ideas, and learn from one another. Inside the Haus der Wirtschaft, participants can expect pitches, keynotes, and a wide range of networking opportunities. Outside, the festival at Börsenplatz creates a relaxed atmosphere with live music and informal conversations. Participation is free of charge.
The Pfizer Healthcare Hub on stage
The Pfizer Healthcare Hub will be part of the action at the Start-up BW Summit 2025: On the GreenTech Stage, Jana Baumann and Minoo Izadgasht will present the Healthcare Hub "InnoSession" – a matchmaking format that gives start-ups the opportunity to pitch their solutions directly to selected Pfizer departments.
In addition, Peter Neske, Innovation Lead at the Pfizer Healthcare Hub Freiburg, will introduce LinkHealth@BW on stage. As a “network of networks,” LinkHealth@BW aims to foster innovation and the adoption of new technologies in the healthcare sector.

The collaborative platform smartXhealth aims to advance the digital health economy through events and programs, supporting the development of new technologies and business models. smartXhealth is backed by various partners, including the University Medical Center Freiburg, the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, Campus Technologies Freiburg, FWTM, and BadenCampus.
