A gateway to a potential collaboration with Pfizer

The Healthcare Hub InnoSession

Acting as a matchmaker between technology providers and Pfizer departments in Germany, the Pfizer Healthcare Hub scouts innovative solutions to optimize processes at the Freiburg site.
An initial exchange between technology providers and Pfizer stakeholders takes place during the Healthcare Hub InnoSessions. Here, tech companies present their solutions and outline potential applications. Key questions can be discussed directly through personal dialogue.

Innovation scout, matchmaker and co‑creation facilitator: the Pfizer Healthcare Hub connects solutions from external companies with the specific challenges of Pfizer Manufacturing Germany.
One possible starting point for such a collaboration is the InnoSession. During these sessions, external innovators come to Pfizer to present their concepts, applications or products to a multidisciplinary team of experts from various Pfizer departments. The format enables a focused exchange, allowing both sides to jointly explore potential use cases and lay the groundwork for further collaboration.

In dialogue with innovation ecosystems

The Pfizer Healthcare Hub actively contributes to shaping the healthcare economy in Baden‑Württemberg and neighboring regions and countries. As a partner of initiatives and networks within the healthcare ecosystem, the Hub shares its experience, participates in industry events, takes the stage, and provides insights into Pfizer’s startup collaborations.
The Hub team continuously monitors emerging trends and developments, engages in dialogue with founders, follows new ideas, and maintains a current overview of where fresh innovation potential for production and process optimization is emerging.

The key question of the InnoSessions: Which processes can be optimized – and how?

Whether through the introduction of automated workflows, smart planning optimization or the use of resource‑efficient technologies, the Pfizer Healthcare Hub team is in ongoing dialogue to identify opportunities to replace time‑ and labor‑intensive manual processes with digital or AI‑based solutions. In addition to continuous exchange, the team also gathers targeted input through discussions and structured formats to determine where processes can be revised and innovated.

The Healthcare Hub bridges optimization needs and innovative solution approaches

Operating at the interface between internal needs and external innovation, the Healthcare Hub aligns optimization requirements with innovative solution approaches. Through the InnoSession, the Hub matches Pfizer’s concrete challenges with external ideas, concepts, applications and products, bringing together external technologies with specific problem statements and application areas at Pfizer. In the first part of an InnoSession, developers and engineers from external companies present their solution approach in a short impulse to interested Pfizer employees. In the second part, they outline how the technology can address a concrete challenge. To assess the potential for collaboration, key questions and open points can then be discussed in dedicated one‑on‑one exchanges. By the end of an InnoSession, the next steps are typically already taking shape.

“The InnoSession provided us with an ideal platform. We were able to present our optimization approaches to a carefully selected, innovation‑minded expert audience. This represents a steep learning curve for us: we receive first‑hand feedback on what can work – and what might not. And of course, the prospect of potentially scaling the solution across Pfizer’s global network if the implementation is successful is a strong motivator,” says Mattheo Krummenacher, Lead Business Development at QuantumBasel.

The InnoSession marked the starting point for a collaboration that has since led to a successfully completed and highly promising proof of technology.
