Start-up BW, the start-up campaign of the state of Baden-Württemberg, enters its second round with the Start-up BW Night: In Mannheim's Jungbusch, Baden-Württemberg's start-up scene meets the public and shows which innovations and young companies are currently emerging in the Rhine-Neckar ecosystem and in THE LÄND.

Pitching Stage // Port 25/C-HUB

At the 2023 state finals of the Start-up BW Elevator Pitch, the 22 teams that have prevailed in the regional and special cups will compete on the main stage and try to convince the expert jury of their idea. In addition, the final of the Start-up BW Young Talents will be held, where students will be in the spotlight and present their ideas.

New regulatory frameworks, climate-related changes, resource scarcity and unstable supply chains require adaptation processes and new industry strategies. Resilience and sustainability are therefore in the focus of the healthcare industry and it is important to use the challenges as an opportunity for future-oriented innovations.

TREFFpunkt Gesundheitsindustrie is THE central networking event for the Baden-Württemberg healthcare industry and is organized by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economics, Labor and Tourism and BIOPRO Baden-Württemberg. The event aims to identify current trends and strong innovation drivers, identify challenges and future-oriented developments, and bring together players from business and science to talk to each other, share experiences and generate new ideas.

Dr. Eike Wenzel from the ITZ Institute for Trend and Future Research will open the event program with his keynote on the megatrend of sustainability in healthcare. The subsequent panel discussion will examine the sustainable development of the healthcare industry from the perspectives of clinical, business and financing.

You can also listen to presentations on the key technologies of medical technology, the pharmaceutical industry and biotechnology - with experts from the fields of interactive microimplants, computer-aided genome mining, quantum technology and personalized medicine in industrial manufacturing. 

After an impulse on the innovation conditions in the healthcare industry by Florian Süssenguth from the Office of the Future Council of the German Chancellor, acatech - Deutsche Akademie der Technikwissenschaften e.V. in the afternoon, future strategies for crisis safety and resilience in the healthcare industry will be discussed.

The event is organized by the Initiative Wirtschaft 4.0 and is aimed at the entire digital community of Baden-Württemberg and all interested parties: beginners and professionals in digitization, companies from traditional industries and high-tech startups, multipliers, science and associations. More than 100 top-class speakers will shed light on the various facets of digitization on the Global Stage, the Innovation Stage, the Mittelstand Stage and the Creative Stage. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to choose their top topics from 25 workshops: From the potential of ChatGPT and Co for SMEs to cybersecurity and blockchain applications in practice. Also planned is the announcement of funding commitments from the 14 state accelerators plus the newly applied for 9 accelerator programs – an important moment for the startup ecosystem in Baden-Württemberg. Finally, Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut MdL, Minister of Economic Affairs, Labor and Tourism Baden-Württemberg, will honor the AI Champions Baden-Württemberg.

(Source: magazin.venturate.com, May 13, 2015) declared Bernd Storm, Felix Haas and Andreas Bruckschlögl as they entered the second round with their startup conference in 2015. While Bits & Pretzels in September is aimed at startups from all industries, Bits & Pretzels HealthTech in June focuses on health technology and is aimed at health tech founders, pharmaceutical and tech giants, medical technicians and political decision makers. Visitors can look forward to a program tailored to the healthcare industry and the unique opportunity to make valuable contacts, network and gain inspiration.

The Pfizer Healthcare Hub Berlin supports the Bits & Pretzels HealthTech conference as a partner. Maja Hoock, Innovation Lead, Thorsten Mintel, Director Strategic Innovation and Paulina Achter, Jr. Manager Innovation Engagement, will be live on site with a booth. Together with Nora Blum, CEO of Selfapy, they will also present their learnings from Pfizer's first DiGA collaboration in a masterclass on June 20: Selfapy's Online Course in Chronic Pain. Startups will learn when partnerships with pharmaceutical companies come into question, what types of cooperation exist, and how to jointly master the approval process for a DiGA.
